Treasury Tuesday – Move This Party Outdoors!

It's officially summer now, everybody!! Time to get outside!!

Everyday now someone is BBQ-ing in the sunshine near our apartment. We take a walk everyday and I find my sniffer wanting to follow the heavenly smell of grilled goodies that seems to linger in the air. We'll walk past neighborhoods where you hear laughter and gabbing coming from the backyards. People sharing an afternoon outside with friends and family is one of the best parts of the summer and today's treasury highlights items that would be perfect for just such an occasion!

Curated by Andrea of sorrythankyou79 (who has a super fun shop full of vintage goodies by the way!), this treasury features fun retro decor items and accessories that would highlight any patio party. I love love love the 50s cat eye glasses and those bar stools are outrageously cute! Making her debut in this party is my starburst hair bow, "Stars in Their Eyes"!

Makeover Monday – Vintage Head Scarf Tutorial

Hello Lovelies! I don't usually have a Monday post, but after a recent outfit post where I featured a scarf wrap (see here) I got questions from a few of you on how I tied my head scarf. Well wish granted! I made my very first tutorial just for you! 

How to Tie a Vintage Style Head Scarf Bow:

Couple of Notes: 

- I have my hair in a pin curl setting, but you could just as easily have your hair pulled back in a flat bun and leave your bangs out.

- My scarf is a sheer raw silk in a long rectangular shape (60"x18")

Drape the scarf over your head just behind your bangs (or whatever hair you want exposed).

Grab one side of the scarf in each hand and pull taut.

Move your hands up to the base of your head still holding the scarf taut and making sure all hair is covered at the bottom 

Cross the two ends of the scarf.

Pull the crossed ends taut.

Pull the ends up and around the sides, still holding tight.

Cross the ends off to one side.

 Tie the ends (just tie, don't knot).

Tie into a bow.

Spread out the bow and fluff it up, tucking in the ends

Secure at the nape of the neck with bobby pins.

Voila! One adorable vintage style head scarf bow! A pin curl setting never looked so cute!
