Norway Impressions I by Vladimir Longauer Photography |
Emerald was recently chosen by Pantone for the new color of 2013! I was rather pleased with this choice, seeing that my favorite color is green!
Greens, and emeralds especially, bring to mind so many different images. Lush forests, spring flowers, deep envy, reptilian desires all come out to play in my imagination. I love the dark and slightly forbidden elegance of emerald and I wanted to share a few of my favorite finds that I've come across recently that embody this color's possibilities.

Are you happy with the chosen color of 2013?
If so, how are you going to incorporate emerald into your new year?
Personally, I struggle wearing this color in large blocks. My complexion is pale and yellow toned, making emerald unsuited to my skin. However, I love emerald in jewelry and accents so I'm planning on splashing it on assorted accessories in my wardrobe.

DeleteLovely post :)))

Thank you!
DeleteSuch a beautiful color! I love the scarf. You have a great blog! x
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love that cowl too! ;-)
Deleteloving the color emerald--so elegant and can be gorgeous is so many different kinds of fabric. loving that oversized cowl--it looks so snuggly!
ReplyDeletewww.insparisian.com
I agree, each fabric can totally change the look too!
DeleteHi Jamie! Just did a post about emerald yesterday. Lol! I think you can still wear it even with a yellow skin tone. Just pair it with the colors that compliment the shade of your skin. Oh...love your new green button barrettes!
ReplyDeleteDebra@stylewisebydebra.blogspot.com
I have a rough time wearing mustard and deep purples too for the same reason and they go so well with emerald! Darn. Accessories are good though. Small steps! ;-)
DeleteAnd thank you about the green buttons! They are actually earrings. Super cute ones too, I think! ;-)
I love the Ribbon Corset!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that so sexy?!
DeleteI love this color and especially love traveling places that are green. We went to Ireland and i swear everything there is a shade of emerald. This year I'm thinking Hawaii were there is no shortage of things green!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, both of those locations sound wonderful right now! All I see outside is brown.
DeleteEMERALD! What a great color. Makes me think of Oz :) I adore that cowl. I need to get myself one of those!
ReplyDeleteI found you through Blog Hop. I am also a new follower.
http://nauticalowl.blogspot.com/
Agreed! Surprised at myself that I hadn't thought of Oz!
DeleteI adore emerald green! Do have much of it in my closet at the moment? No, but I have long been smitten with it and probably own more if more brands used that colour on a regular basis. Now that it's Pantone's colour of the year, I think that might change - if only for the next twelve months - and give me a chance to inject more of this elegant hue into my wardrobe.
ReplyDelete♥ Jessica
You may indeed get many chances at grabbing yourself an emerald adornment! ;-)
DeleteThis is a great choice for 2013! I love a rich emerald green and lots of other shades too. I foresee extra shopping in my future if this colour starts showing up everywhere. Those green leaf earrings are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAren't those earrings freakin' cool?! I loved those. There were bamboo leaf ones too that I had my eye on!
DeleteI've always liked the color green but "emerald" is now my new favorite color! This collection is gorgeous!!! I'm going to hint for a emerald ring for my birthday this year =)
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that would be a wonderful birthday present!
DeleteI adore emerald! I know I have to be careful with the shades because some don't look good on me, but in general this is one of the colours I love and wear. I would love a piece of emeral jewellery - after all, this is my birth stone, so it would be good to have something even for that very reason.
ReplyDeleteToday's selection is absolutely gorgeous, especially the Murano bowl. I checked it straight away and it was quite sad to find out that it can only be delivered within the States. It's simply mesmerising.
xxx
I thought that bowl was beautiful! The shape is so unusual and the gold and green make it that much more appealing. So sorry that it can't be shipped internationally!
DeleteGorgeous collection ! Thank you so much for including my mossy tree ;)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! It made a beautiful end to a lovely collection of emerald goodies!
DeleteThat ribbon corset is beautiful!!!! =)
ReplyDeleteErgo - Blog
Luscious even! ;-)
Deletei love this color!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Very appealing to the senses.
DeleteWow - green is usually the first color that I say I don't like. Accents is o.k. depending on the shade of green, but big chunks... not so much. Knowing this I am surprised to find that I like the items you found, Jamie. They truly are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for displaying my blog button on your site. It is very much appreciated :)
Yes, these pieces were really gorgeous! I particularly loved the earrings!
DeleteOh these emerald finds are just gorgeous! I really like that glass bowl. What a beauty!

ReplyDeleteAs for me, I don't like green colour much, just some hues (sea green, for instance). But it suits me well and even made my eyes greener (I have light green eyes). And for New Year celebration I chose a black-green outfit. I hope, I'll post some photos later.
Excited to see your new year's outfit! ;-)
DeleteEmerald is such a pretty rich color. You had some lovely photos to show the rich tones.

It's one of my faves! And in a world where everyone is turquoise/teal obsessed I like to stand out a bit from the crowd. Just a bit, still totally playing it safe... Make it a wonderful day!!!
