Make My Monday – Dance, Chat, and Shop with Me!!

Vintage Dance Event #balboa #swing #dance #vintage
Wanna meet me and chat face to face, maybe even get a hug or two?! Here's your chance!! I will be vending at The Eastern Balboa Championships dance event weekend on Oct. 31st - Nov. 3rd. I will have my entire shop's contents plus many more unlisted items with me too.

Plus! Vintage lovers, listen up! Not only will my happy-to-see-you face be there with lovely vintage accessories, but Raleigh Vintage's happy-to-see-you faces will be there too!! Two vintage lovin' shops for your vintage lovin' hearts!

Dancing vintage Balboa in vintage clothing #dance #vintage #fashionYou don't have to attend the dance weekend to be able to come and enjoy shopping with us either. The event is taking place at the Hilton North Raleigh and the vendor lobby is open to the public. So you can chat and shop and gawk at all the lovely dancers (many of whom are donning fantastic vintage styles!). Orrrrrr, if you wanna try a little dancing of the glorious Balboa and have never done so before, the event has a Beginner Track available and also an a la carte pay for classes and dances, so you can drop in and take a few lessons. I highly recommend that you do, as you will LOVE it! This is their 10th anniversary and the theme this year is Cirque du Soleil! Fun!

This is sadly the last EBC being held, so if you want the chance to try out or see this style of dancing, get the chance to friend it up with me, and peruse some beautiful vintage fashion, then clear your schedule and meet me in Raleigh! It's gonna to be a blast!

To give you a taste of what will be offered, check out these sites:

Make My Monday – $50 Etsy Giftcard Giveaway!

Yep, you heard right!!! There is a giveaway for a $50 giftcard to use at any shop on Etsy! Do you know how much I wanna win this?! I already entered so here is your chance!

Stephanie Lehmann, one of my lovely sponsors and author of Astor Place Vintage (a novel I'm reviewing here on Thursday) is holding the giveaway on her Facebook page. It is ridiculously easy to enter. I usually don't like to have to do a million gazillion bajillion steps in order to enter a contest, so if you're like me this one is ideal. All you have to do is "like" her facebook page and play a fun little "author or model" game that takes seconds and voilá, you're entered!

The contest ends on Thursday, Sept. 19th, so hurry over there now!!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for both you and me!!

What I'll feel like if I win:
Best Day Ever! #vintage #laughing #photograph #1940s #1950s

Makeover Monday – Vintage Head Scarf Tutorial

Hello Lovelies! I don't usually have a Monday post, but after a recent outfit post where I featured a scarf wrap (see here) I got questions from a few of you on how I tied my head scarf. Well wish granted! I made my very first tutorial just for you!

How to Tie a Vintage Style Head Scarf Bow:

How to Tie a Vintage Style Head Scarf Bow ~ ChatterBlossom #vintage #hair #hairstyleCouple of Notes:
- I have my hair in a pin curl setting, but you could just as easily have your hair pulled back in a flat bun and leave your bangs out.
- My scarf is a sheer raw silk in a long rectangular shape (60"x18")

Drape the scarf over your head just behind your bangs (or whatever hair you want exposed).

Grab one side of the scarf in each hand and pull taut.

Move your hands up to the base of your head still holding the scarf taut and making sure all hair is covered at the bottom

Make My Monday – Meet Me in Person!

Saturday April 13th craft show and plant sale at Raleigh Moravian Church

Would you like to meet me or see my creations in person?! If any of you are in the area, I'm going to take part in a local craft show this Saturday. This will be the first time I've ever done anything like this before! I'm a bit terrified (okay, a lot terrified!), but there is no time like the present to do something that scares you. I don't really have what you would call "displays" or anything, but I'm going to make do with what I can find in my home. I will be bringing all the items from my shop, plus over one hundred that have not been listed yet. To have a peek at what will be there, visit my shop.

So, please come visit me and my smiling face! I would love to meet you! Just know that this could be a total disaster, an epic fail, or I could be situated between two top hat wearing monkeys and it could be the best day of your life.

The craft show is called the Spring Fling and will be held at Raleigh Moravian Church, located at 1816 Ridge Rd in Raleigh on Sat. April 13th from 10am to 3pm.

Wish me luck and hope to see you there!

*************************************************
Side note: Because of the chaos surrounding the preparation for the craft fair, I won't be posting a Thursday Thrill, Saturday Shop Talk, or Sunday Snag this week. Sorry guys, but I will return the following week! Thank you for understanding!

Make My Monday! – Giveaway Edition

Ladies, it's time for a lovely little giveaway!!
artwork of perfume bottles
I held my very first giveaway a couple of months ago and it was so much fun! If you remember, one lucky winner snagged a beautiful hand-bound vintage journal. Well, today, you can put your name in the hat for another delightful paper creation! Debra, owner and artist of Debra Lynn Mejia Illustration and Design, has very generously decided to give away one of her creations!

artwork of perfume bottle set on stationery
Debra creates watercolor portraits of some of the most iconic fragrances, including Coco from Chanel, Daisy from Marc Jacobs, and J'adore from Dior. These well loved and classic labels have come to represent elegance, romance, and intoxicating love for women around the world. Debra has decided to give away to one of you lovelies, a set of notecards taken from her original watercolor of Coco Chanel! And what's great about this (besides the fact that it's beautiful) is her handpainted design would be the perfect way to send your most loved a written note for Valentine's Day! If chosen, you will receive a set of 10 notecards of Coco Chanel along with coordinating "pink lemonade" envelopes. Perfect chance to send a little of the written word to those you love!

And as if this weren't enough, I'm giving away one 200x200 featured ad space on my sidebar for the month just as an extra Valentine bonus!

************************************************************************
This giveaway will only be open for one week, so get your entries in now! The contest is open to international entries too! Yay! A winner will be announced on Monday, Feb. 11th. Good luck!

If you have any questions or something is confusing or doesn't work for you on upon entering, don't hesitate to ask for help! Just let me know, and I will be more than happy to walk you through the process. :-)

The first three entries are mandatory. Once those are complete, a list of bonus entries will appear if you want extra chances to win!
