Friday Photo Swoon – Road Trip!

Vintage road trip vacation #vintage #summer

Mid-July, what to do, what to do? I know, road trip!! Summer break allows many of us ample time to get out on the road and explore the sights, be it with family, friends, or maybe a girls' only weekend! The photo directly below makes me want to grab some girlfriends and head out the door!

Do you take road trip vacations? I never really have before. We usually travel to see family or fly to some far away land for vacation. The hubs and I have never set off on a road trip, but we may need to try that sometime! Driving along a coastline or through national parks or maybe vineyards sounds pretty wonderful to me!

  3. I juts love the colour and tone of these photographs. The closest I got to a road trip was heading down to Cornwall and having no set plan, just driving where we wanted and staying somewhere we found at the last moment when it started to get dark. I have nice memories of this.

  4. Hello lovely! My hubby & I have taken plenty of road trips. :) We usually don't stop for sight seeing as we're too excited to get to our destination. But I would love to travel the old fashioned way and with my girlfriends. Bloggers pack your bags. I'm heading your way! Lol! Xoxo

  6. Those are fantastic! I'm not much for road trips, but we did always drive to our vacation destinations growing up

  7. As a motorcyclists, I take road-trips all the time because, for us, "it's the journey, not the destination." They're something wonderful about facing an open road without a defined path. I usually just know the direction I want to head in but not the specific roads. This opens the door to adventure and you have terrific unanticipated encounters and experiences. I highly recommend this, even in a car, as long as you stay off "the slab" (highways). Small roads have restaurants and amusements with great character.

  8. I hope you get to take a fun road trip soon. Our "road trips" include driving around the island with some delightful stops. Can't get too far over here but still fun. Those are some very pretty photos. I'd like to see them framed and in my home.

  12. Growing up road trips were pretty much the only holidays my family ever took. They were huge treats and even the AC-less car couldn't put a damper on our enthusiasm to venture off to various parts of the province summer after summer. I love them just as much still these days, and hope that my health will permit Tony and I to go on a few of our own over the years, now that we have a car at long last (we got our first car in the spring of 2012, after almost eight years together sans a vehicle).
