Saturday Shop Talk – "Make Those Eyes at Me"

Hair Accessory with vintage center on floral fascinator

Personality: The Shy Romantic
Places you'll find yourself: Willing him across the cafe to your table with just a flick of your eyelashes and a small, flirtatious smile

I created this little hair flower with fuchsia pink and purple anemone petals. In the center is a little cut-out vintage gold button and the back is covered in an upcycled, vintage men's silk tie and a small hair clip. The photo below is of another version available in my shop.

For the actual hairstyle pictured, I french braided all the way down rather loosely and wrapped the braid into a loose side bun, pinning it down with bobby pins.

Side note: I cut all my hair off this week!!! I had very long hair and they were able to take 4 ponytails worth for Locks of Love!! Crazy huh?! Now that my hair is very short, I'm going to start putting flowers like these in the front by my ear or side of my face.

  1. Whoa did you tie your own hair so professionally or is that someone else's head? That's a very elegant head piece Jamie <3

  3. Very lovely! The combination of deep fuschia and royal purple has always been a favourite of mine, especially on accessories (fuschia can be tricky for me to pull off with my skin and hair tones, so I generally opt to enjoy it in small accessory sized doses :) ).

    1. I'm the opposite, I can wear fuchsia, but have trouble with purple. Glad you like it!

  13. Oh I'm requesting a post please. I used to have super long hair too and cut a lot of it off fairly recently. Basically it just barely hits the base of my neck. I love, love the flowers but would have no idea how to wear them......If you are up for it...because I would love to own one!

    1. Absolutely! You'll see my haircut soon in a Sunday Snag post, but I will make sure to find a time to photo a flower in my short hair for you. If I can't get a post together, I'll at least send you a photo personally. ;-)
