The Sunday Snag – Boyish Good Looks

Okay, so I'm not saying that I don't love a pair of girly shorts. Feminine, on the shorter side, and in a pastel would be super cute to me. However, I love to wear a more boyish look sometimes. Androgynous, simple, and of course, a bit on the vintage side. I found these adorable 50s/60s plaid high waist shorts at Mid Century Mali Vintage. They have deep pockets, a metal buckle, and a zip up back. I think they would be quite charming with a tight navy tee, sailing loafers, and maybe a chunky necklace.

How would you style these shorts? Give me some ideas! :-)

  8. Very cute shorts. I find clothes with a masculine edge tend to make women look even more feminine because of the contrast they create. These will look great on you.

  11. Lovely shorts! With these shorts I would wear a solid color on the top, maybe a white or black top. I would even wear a white top with a black blazer or vice versa.

  21. Three ways I'd be inclined to style these classic shorts would be: a 3/4 or long sleeved summer weight cotton button down blouse (likely in red, white, yellow or blue) from the same era; a fitted polo shirt, or a cropped cardigan (perhaps with a camisole underneath for extra warmth or to have a little lace peaking out).
